How to Boil Food in the Oven
- 1). Preheat the oven to the temperature the recipe requires.
- 2). Place the ingredients in a oven-safe pan. If you're in a hurry, you can heat the liquids first to speed up the baking process. Water in food takes more time to heat than other ingredients and it's the liquids that boil in the oven.
- 3). Check the food from time to time to establish when the sauces are boiling. Some recipes are ready once the liquid around the sides of the pan is boiling, but others, especially those with raw ingredients like scalloped potatoes, need to be boiling all the way through to the center to fully cook.
- 4). Remove the food with the hot pads carefully after it's done. Place it on a trivet or a surface that heat will not damage.
