How to Support Glass Shelves on the Wall
- 1). Affix vertical strips of masking tape at the center point of the shelf and at the points where the shelf brackets will go. Draw a level line on the center tape using your level and a pencil. Mark the exact locations for the bracket screws on the other pieces of tape.
- 2). Place the tip of a Phillips head screwdriver at one of the bracket screw marks. Press the tip of the screwdriver into the wall behind the tape, making a small indentation. Repeat for the other bracket screw mark.
- 3). Remove the masking tape. Position the tip of a wall anchor on one of the indentations, and drive it through the drywall with the screwdriver. Repeat for the other indentation.
- 4). Hold a bracket up to the wall, lining the screw hole up with the wall anchor. Drive a screw through the bracket and into the wall anchor with a screwdriver. Repeat for the other bracket.
- 5). Rest the edge of the glass shelf on the brackets and move it until it is centered. Press the glass shelf firmly into the brackets.
