    Editing

    • If you have editing skills, you're in the perfect environment to earn some money while in college. You're surrounded by thousands of students who are busy writing papers, and often struggling with syntax and grammar. You can charge by the hour or by the page to clean up their writing and help them to say what they mean. When pursuing this line of work, be careful not to cross the line from editing over to doing work for someone. Being paid to write papers for someone else is against academic codes and could get you into a lot of trouble.

    Cookies

    • Make some money on the side by baking cookies during your study breaks. Let your friends and fellow students know about your cookie business, and you'll have people stopping by on their way home from classes to buy a dozen cookies at your front door. If you make big, chewy excellent cookies, you can sell a dozen for $12 to $15 dollars. Be sure to indicate which cookies have nuts in them to warn people with allergies.

    Used Goods Trader

    • University students need a lot of things, and many of them don't have a lot of extra money. Dedicate an extra bedroom to your business and start dealing in used goods with your fellow students. The mobile population of a university can be a gold mine if you know how to work it. At the end of every school year, rent a van and travel around the neighborhood buying up furniture that students are getting rid of as they leave town. People will even give you a lot of it for free. Store it for the summer and then sell it to new students at a profit at the beginning of the next school year.

    Dating Service

    • A university is filled with thousands of single people in their early 20s. It's the perfect place to run a dating service. Charge students a fee to be included in your database. Have them fill out detailed questionnaires about their likes and dislikes, their personalities, goals and quirks. Match them up yourself or get a computer geek friend to invent an algorithm that will create matches made in heaven.
