Network Marketing Attrition Rates Through the Roof! Why?

105 39
Introduction
There is a large shift in the network marketing industry going on at the moment, and if you currently are in the industry, or looking into it, you should educate yourself on what it is that is going on. A large group of leaders in the multi-level marketing industry are now giving up on dead downlines and small commission checks and are shifting their focus over to other models for their home based business opportunities. In fact, the average time before a new distributor quits an opportunity today today is around 3 months. There are many different reasons for this and I am going to cover some of the main reasons in this short article. The first main reason that the attrition rate in multi-level marketing is not what is used to be just a few years ago can be "blamed" on the Internet. Some actually go so far as to say that the Internet has killed MLM altogether. People are now hammered with information and impulses on new and better opportunities every single time they go online, whether they are searching actively or just browsing around or reading their emails. There is no such thing as loyalty to a company any more, and if something actually is better than what the current situation is, people with not think twice before changing one thing for another. This is not just eminent in the network marketing industry, but this is also easily seen in how people change their banks or where they shop their groceries. The second reason why the attrition rate is only getting higher as time goes, and people find other alternatives more rewarding, is that there is a high demand for efficiency and fast results today. The professional business man does not have time to wait 3-5 years for an MLM-opportunity to pay big money (if it ever does). Why do that when you can replace your income in 3-5 months with other options? The Internet also makes it easier than ever to be completely mobile, giving people the opportunity to work from anywhere they want as long as they have access to their laptops and computers. These new bread of entrepreneurs do not have time to deal with tire-kickers and whiners, and they leverage the power of the Internet to sort through and find only the highest quality of people to work with. The last main reason I think the attrition rate in network marketing is through the roof, is that people are now easily finding information on what it really takes to succeed in a home based business. The sales pitches and hype saying that "you only have to get 3 friends into the business and the downline will grow by itself down to China" luckily does not work any more (at least not for long until they find out how it really is). People realize that they have to learn marketing instead of prospecting and that it is much more efficient to position themselves in the marketplace and having people find them first, rather than chasing after other people for their business opportunity. And once they have actually learned these methods and have a flow of prospects coming their way; suddenly there is much easier to use a business model that will pay you a full-time income within just months rather than years, so people then choose to align themselves with the more fast-paying, higher-rewarding opportunities. Conclusion
Network marketing attrition rates are higher today than ever before, and the reasons for this are mainly the Internet, the need for fast results and simply that it is easier and much faster to reach a high 5- or 6-figure monthly income with other business models that are available out there.
