Wedding Reception Ideas for Chairs

104 49

    Tulle

    • Tulle is an inexpensive option that you will be able to apply to the chairs yourself. Choose a colored tulle to match your color scheme or wedding theme, if you cannot find the exact color you need ask if it can be ordered or dyed the right color. Wrap the tulle around the back of the chair and tie a large bow in the back. The tulle works best on chairs that have a clean finish and are presentable enough without a covering. You can also add flowers in the knot of the bow that match your other wedding floral.

    Chair Slip Covers

    • For a traditional look you can rent slip covers for your reception chairs. Your venue might offer you this option or you can go to a linen store to rent them. Prices vary depending on the fabric used and the amount of detail stitched into the covers. Match your chair covers to your wedding linens or choose a contrasting color. If you have an ivory linen you could choose ivory covers or you could choose a black or brown cover to compliment the linens. For an added splash of color, add a fabric tie around the back of the chair to match your wedding color scheme.

    Antique Chairs

    • If you do not like the idea of adding extras to the chairs like tulle, ribbon or fabric, purchase or rent antique chairs. The chairs do not necessarily have to match if you do not want them to. Flee markets, antique stores or pawn shops can be fruitful places to look for chairs. Find chairs that have elaborate carvings or metal work so they have detail built into them. Finding and finishing antique chairs for your wedding can be more work than some other options.
