Choosing where in the Cayman Islands to stay Based on your Vacation Lifestyle

Everyone's vacation lifestyle is different. Some prefer to spend most of their time doing their favorite activities, exploring and experiencing the local culture; some would rather spend the majority of their time relaxing by the beach or pool. W
hatever your vacation lifestyle, Cayman Activity Guide Magazine and Cayman Activity Guide Online (CaymanActivityGuide.com) strive to provide the absolute highest value for your vacation dollars.
Visitors who prefer a completely pampered resort experience with a central location on Grand Cayman will achieve the highest value from the Marriott Beach Resort. Located in central Seven Mile Beach. A newly remodeled resort with amenities to rival any 5 star resort, the Marriott offers the highest value of any resort in the Cayman Islands.

Those preferring a more private and secluded vacation experience will benefit from the condominiums on the northernmost end of Seven Mile Beach, ostensibly an island unto itself yet only minutes by car to many of the most popular shops, restaurants and activities. The most highly valued condos in the Seven Mile Beach north area are Discovery Point and Anchorage. Both have expansive white sand beaches, well above average amenities, fresh water swimming pools; and all condos—like every establishment recommended by Cayman Activity Guide—must first undergo a rigorous evaluation prior to receiving our endorsements.

One of the Cayman Islands most popular attractions is diving. With water temperatures ranging from the lower 80's in the winter to the very high 80's in the summer (even warmer at the surface to ~10 feet); visibility typically in excess of 100 horizontal feet; and some of the most seasoned and service oriented dive companies in the Caribbean, the Cayman Islands are every diver's dream. Not limited to scuba and snorkel diving, every conceivable water sport activity can be enjoyed in the warm clear waters year round. Far too many to itemize in a single article, suffice it to say that any warm saltwater activity can be found in abundance in the Cayman Islands.

Very serious divers, who want to spend the majority of their vacation diving, taking underwater photos, shore diving, boat diving, and then bathtub diving when they get back—yes you, all the hardcore divers out there! If diving is the main reason for your vacation and you are no
t particularly interested in enjoying some of the most diverse and exotic cuisine anywhere in th
e Caribbean, then Little Cayman is the island for you. All of the dive resorts on Little Cayman are all inclusive; offer good value; and provide incomparable diving experiences.
Moderately serious divers, who want to enjoy the very best diving AND other activities, tours and arguably the most diverse and rewarding cuisine in the Caribbean will derive the greatest satisfaction staying on Grand Cayman—either at a resort, condo or b&b—doing your boat and shore diving à la carte.
For boat diving, we highly recommend Living the Dream Divers. They offer valet diving, priding themselves
on providing the most highly personalized customer service. Their brand new 40' Newton custom dive boat is appointed to the hilt with every amenity imaginable; and while their boat could easily accommodate over a dozen divers, they limit their guests to 8. No other dive operation in the Cayman Islands at the time of this article offers such a spacious and well equipped boat limited to only 8 divers.
For shore diving we recommend Cayman Turtle Divers. Their unique location offers shore diving at the most pristine areas of Turtle Reef. in the famous Northwest Point area of West Bay. With multi-day boat dive packages they even offer free unlimited shore diving.
That leaves us with snorkelers and other non-diving water enthusiasts, given the constraints of a single article. The single most popular snorkel site is Stingray City, located in the North Sound of Grand Cayman, accessible only by boat. The company that provides the greatest value is Soto's Cruises, averaging only a dozen guests on a 40' custom boat that could hold 3 times that many. Indeed, many snorkel companies in Grand Cayman have cruise ship affiliations and take upwards of 100 snorkelers on a single boat—sardines look at these types of boats and say: "wow, spacious".
There is so much to do in the Cayman Islands that no single article could possibly encompass the entirety of the activities, tours, excursions, restaurants and other attractions. You can wait for our next article, which will focus on Cayman Islands Restaurants; or visit our website:
