How to Use a Proxy to Vote by Ballot
- 1). Determine that you are eligible to vote by proxy. This means that you must be unable to get to a polling place for one of six reasons: you are on holiday; you have a physical condition that means you can't get there; you cannot get away from employment; education requires that you are unable to get away from school; you are in the military; or you are overseas.
- 2). Have someone else verify that your reason for voting by proxy is legitimate. This is to ensure that there is no voter fraud and there is no instance where someone is voting for fake people.
- 3). Choose an individual who is eligible to vote in the election. More importantly, she must live in the same region as you.
- 4). Tell the individual who you want to vote for and have them go to the polling place. He will vote for himself and then, upon receipt of the proxy ballot, will vote for you.
