How to List Cash in a Last Will & Testament
- 1). Using a template such as those listed in the Resources section of this article, create a basic last will and testament, which should include the following sections: document title; declaration of full name and mailing address; names of estate executors; names of guardian(s) for any children you may have; details of estate beneficiaries; details of your assets; specific bequest requests; funeral arrangements; your signature; and the signature of two witnesses.
- 2). Determine whether the funds you wish to leave to your heirs are available in cash reserves or in the form of other assets, such as jewelry that can be sold for cash. If your cash is wrapped up in your assets, list those assets and their approximate value in the section titled "Specific Bequests."
- 3). List any actual cash sums to be left to your children or other beneficiaries, including both the total of those sums and the designated recipient(s), in "Specific Bequests."
