Grants For Single Moms

103 33
It's that time of year again, when those on financial aid re-apply and those who have never received any type of aid apply for the first time.
If you are a mom wanting to get your degree, now is the time to apply for financial aid.
It's fast, easy, and free.
Grants are great! They pay for classes, fees, books, and school supplies.
Some grants will help pay for your housing costs and meal plans.
The best part about grants, is if you don't use all your grant money you get a refund check from your school for the difference.
Hello shopping spree! The beginning of the year is when everyone applies, or re-applies for student aid.
Don't be passed up, apply now before all the free money is gone.
Single moms deserve a chance at an education just as much as anyone else.
After you return your application, it can take 14 days to get a letter back.
If you have access to a computer I urge you to fill out the FAFSA application online, as you get an email back in as little as 5 days.
When your letter finally arrives it will have you Expected Family Contribution, or EFC.
The lower this number is the better.
Your EFC is how much they think that you can afford to pay for college.
Your EFC and information will be sent to the university or universities you entered on your FAFSA.
The school will use that number to determine if you qualify for a grant, and if so how much.
Right before the next term or semester starts, your school will send you an award letter.
If you receive a grant, this letter will tell you how much to expect! To apply for a grant for the very first time, or even to re-apply, you need to fill out a Free Application For Federal Student Aid.
This is an easy form that is also known as a FAFSA.
Go to your university's financial aid office and ask for a paper FAFSA, call FAFSA and ask to be mailed an application at 1-800-4-FED-AID, or apply online at FAFSA.
