How to Do Kinky Braids
- 1). Wash your hair thoroughly with shampoo and conditioner. Dry it with a towel. Pour boiling water into a cup so that it will be ready.
- 2). Part your hair right in the middle, starting from the forehead and up to the nape, using the rattail comb. Clip the left portion with a hair clip. Part the hair on the right portion horizontally, starting from the right ear up to the middle. Hold the partition with separate hair clips.
- 3). Remove the hair clip on the left partition and divide it also into two sections, starting from the left ear up to the middle. Your hair is now partitioned into four sections. Hold the back portion with a hair clip and leave the front unclipped. You will start braiding on that portion.
- 4). Take a bunch of synthetic hair, about the same amount as the unclipped portion of your hair. Divide your hair, place the synthetic hair in between, and use the adhesive included in the pack to secure the hair on the scalp. Arrange the synthetic hair so that it looks like a natural addition to your hair.
- 5). Take approximately three strips of hair on the unclipped portion of the hair. The first strip should be synthetic, middle strip should be natural hair, and the third strip synthetic hair again. Place the third strip over the second strip of hair so that it overlaps, and put the first strip on top of the third strip. The second strip of hair will now be on the third section. Again, place the second strip (which is now in the third section) on the top of the middle strip and overlap the first strip over the top of the third strip. Repeat this braiding procedure until you reach the tips of the hair.
- 6). Dip the tip of the hair into the cup of boiling water so that the ends will seal. Repeat Step 5 until you finish braiding that particular section of the hair. After you have done one portion, remove the hair clip of another portion and repeat Step 5. Repeat the braiding procedure until you've finished all portions of the hair.
