    • 1). Cover any dark circles under or around your eyes with a concealer matching your skin tone. Pat with your fingertip to blend thoroughly.

    • 2). Use eye shadow base to create a smooth surface on your lids that will resist creasing and fading. Most major cosmetics companies sell shadow bases, or you can use a sheer coating of liquid foundation covered with a light dusting of face powder.

    • 3). Start with the lightest color of eye shadow, and use a makeup brush intended for eye shadow application to sweep color across your eyelids and up to the browbone.

    • 4). Brush the medium shade across your lids evenly from inner to outer corners.

    • 5). Tap the shadow brush on the darkest shade, and lightly blow to remove excess shadow. Apply this color to the crease where your lids meet your brow bone. Sweep the color across the crease from the outer corner of your eye to the point above your pupil when looking straight forward.

    • 6). Blow on the brush to remove excess powder, and use the brush to gently blend and smooth the edges of the shadow colors. Avoid any harsh lines or obvious demarcations between colors.

    • 7). Use just the tip of a makeup brush to apply a small dab of the lightest shadow color to the inner corner of your eyelids. This will give your eyes the appearance of being more open and wide set, and will draw attention to your eye color.

    • 8). Take the lightest color of shadow, and with the makeup brush apply to the very top of your browbone, underneath your eyebrows. Apply from the middle of the eyes to the outer corners.

    • 9). Line your eyes if desired, using a liner pencil, liquid liner, or a wet liner brush dipped in eye shadow powder. Line the top lid along the lashes, and apply a thin line to the lower lids directly under the lashes.

Apply one to two coats of mascara. Use an eyelash comb to remove any clumps and separate the lashes.

Wipe any scattered makeup from under or around your eyes with a cotton swab.
