How to Fix Jeans That Bag at the Waist
- 1). Turn jeans the wrong side out and try them on.
- 2). Pinch the waistband on the right and left sides, between the belt loops in the back. Adjust your pinches so that there is a similar amount of fabric pinched on each side.
- 3). Place a pin in each pinch to hold the measurement while you take the jeans off.
- 4). Adjust the pins to make a pleat on each side of the back waistband. Make sure the pleat is even on each side and that the pleats are the same distance from the center.
- 5). Use needle and thread or a sewing machine to stitch each pleat straight across the waistband and then taper out to a point just above the back pocket.
- 6). Fold the pleat down and press with a hot iron. Stitch the pleat down flat, if necessary.
