How to Hang a Wall Bin
- 1). Position the wall bin against the wall at a comfortable height. If possible, center the bin over a set of studs. If you do not know where your studs are, use an electric stud finder to locate them. If you cannot center the bin over studs, it is all right.
- 2). Place a level across the top of the bin from left to right, and then reposition the bin until it rests level on the wall.
- 3). Mark out the mounting holes on the wall, using a pencil.
- 4). Drill a hole half the diameter of the lag bolts you plan to use to install the bin in the studs. If you are not using studs, drill a hole large enough for the butterfly toggle bolts to fit through the wall.
- 5). Place a flat washer on the lag bolt or toggle bolt, and then place the bolts through the mounting holes on the bin. If you are using butterfly toggle bolts, thread the toggles onto the bolts and then slide the toggles into the holes. If you're using lag bolts, place the threaded tips of the bolts in the mounting holes.
- 6). Tighten the lag bolts with a wrench, or tighten the toggle bolts with a screwdriver.
