Introduction
National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), established in 1963 by the Government of India with the assistance of United Nations Development Project (UNDP) through the International Labour Organization (ILO), is one of the leading institutes for management education. NITIE has been providing solutions to the complex problems of industries and business, taking cognizance of ever changing needs of the dynamic business environment. Located in the picturesque surroundings of north Mumbai and flanked by Powai and Vihar Lakes, it provides an ideal ambience for academic pursuit. Since its inception in 1963, NITIE has achieved significant milestones in the course of its progress. NITIE's continuous contacts with industries have culminated in the establishment of an Industry-Institute Interaction Cell, which undertakes various studies including bench marking which are immense use to the nation.
NITIE's postgraduate programmes are highly rated by industry. Our alumni occupy very senior positions of leadership in industry.

(1) PGDIM (Postgraduate diploma in industrial management)
(2)PGDIE (Postgraduate diploma in industrial engineering) Total number of seats: 90
(3) PGDISEM (Postgraduate diploma in industrial safety and environmental management)
Eligibility
PGDIM:
Engineering/technology graduates (with first division i.e.60%) in any branch
Work experience (in per cent): Manufacturing 42, sales and marketing 17, quality control 11, systems 6, projects 13, others 11.
CAT (Common Admission Test) for two-year Post-Graduate Programme in Management (PGDIM) is held every year and is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs).
PGDIE:
Engineering/technology graduates (with first division) in any branch and with minimum of 85 per cent in GATE. Admission is based on group discussion and interview with appropriate weight age to GATE score. Reservation for SC/ST and handicapped candidates is as per government rules. Selection for Industry-sponsored candidates with first class degree in engineering/technology (with two years industry experience) is through personal interview only.
PGDISEM:
A bachelor's degree in any branch of engineering with minimum 55 per cent marks (50 per cent in case of SC/ST candidates). Preference will be given to industrial sponsored candidates. Appropriate weight age will be given to work experience.
Seats: Interview calls (approximately): 90
PGDISEM admission process will be same as that for PGDIM. However, examinations will be different. PGDISEM entrance examination will be conducted immediately after PGDIM examination so as to enable candidates who wish to write both the examinations and in such cases candidates are required to apply to both the courses with separate demand drafts.
