Who Can Stay at Home Moms Trust?

Here's the ugly truth: The online water in which stay at home moms tread is populated by way too many sharks. There are so many people out there who are trying to prey on stay at home moms and to take advantage of them that it's downright pathetic. For every legitimate business opportunity tailored to women who work from home (or who would like to do so), it seems like there are ten scammy come-ons.

So, how can a woman separate the wheat from the chaff when searching for an online business opportunity or a way to make some money via the Internet.

Here are a few things to look for that will improve your odds of avoiding the "bad guys."

First, if they tell you that survey taking or secret shopping is your route to incredible wealth, run away. Run away fast. Yes, some surveys do pay. Yes, a handful of people make some money with secret shopping. These options are not consistent earners, though. Additionally, they are one of the most scam-prone areas you can imagine. If someone is touting surveys and secret shopping, be very skeptical of anything they say.

Second, don't buy into the "you can make a fortune writing for residuals" argument. There are tons of content mills out there that invite stay at home moms to contribute articles. They pay a percentage of eventual Adsense earnings from the site after taking full rights to the material. In many cases, the actual value of the payout for these articles (stretched over more than year) is still less than a buck. Stay at home moms can, obviously, do better than that.

Third, look for someone who's willing to put his or her effort into making you successful. Try to find business opportunities that include a full-blown training component. When you see that, it's a good sign that the people involved are serious about your success and aren't just interested in pitching a sketchy product to stay at home moms.

If you follow those three recommendations, you're much less likely to lose your money and precious time in a scam or low-quality offer targeting stay at home moms.
