If you think pollutants only exist outdoors, think again.
Even in the comfort of your own homes, you can be a victim of these disease-carrying pollutants - dust mites, mold, mildew, and bacteria are having a party right in your living quarters.
As most people are already exposed to countless pollutants on their way to work, picking up kids from school, the grocery, parks, malls...
shouldn't your homes be the ultimate sanctuary? The one place where your families can be safe, clean, and pollutant free? To counter this, more and more homeowners are fighting back with their own pollutant busters.
Electrostatic Precipitators, Ozone releasers, Ultraviolet light purification, Ionizers have become popular for their efficiency in countering pollutants but how do you know which one is the perfect choice for your home? Though a bit scientific in its approach, Electrostatic Precipitators work by deactivating indoor pollutants.
It uses opposite charges on metal wires that attract pollutants while deactivating them.
Ionizers work pretty much like Electrostatic Precipitators, also emitting electric charge that gathers air inside the machine.
After the polluted air passes through the machine, it becomes clean again and safe to breathe even for kids.
This should keep parents worry-free.
Ultraviolet light purification on the other hand allows air to pass through the machine.
The UV released will then kill the pollutants by purifying the air.
Destroying bacteria is how Ozone releasers work.
It has a dual function of not only cleaning the air but gives a bonus fresh scent to keep the air inside your home pleasant smelling.
Unfortunately, this doesn't help the earth as the ozone released in the atmosphere destroys the ozone layer even more.
When choosing whole house air cleaner, other factors may also be taken into consideration.
Will it be easy to operate and maintain.
As most families are already busy juggling work and taking care of children, we really don't want this to take up more of our time to set-up or maintain.
It would be a big plus if the unit comes out of the box in perfect working order.
Plug and use! Price is also another thing to consider.
A whole house air cleaner in the $500 to $1000 range is already value for money.
You don't want it too pricey because lower-priced cleaners can do the job just the same.
However, be wary of very cheap offers.
Remember, if the offer is too good to be true, it's probably not true.
Purifiers should also be kid-friendly.
We don't want children to be exposed to dangerous house gadgets/ appliances.
Of course, parents must also be responsible for its safe storage.
It shouldn't be in a place where kids can tinker with it or be exposed to it.
