Homemade Wedding Thank You Cards
- 1). Pick out plain or patterned lightweight cardstock. You could use the wedding colors, for consistency.
- 2). Fold the cardstock in half to form the card. You can create it to open from the front or top. Create smaller cards by cutting the cardstock in half to make two cards.
- 3). Write "Thank You" on the front of the card. Use big, bold letters. You can print in block letters, or use stencils or calligraphy. Write with a gold pen, colored markers or paints. Decorate the letters by adding glitter or gluing colored yarn over the words.
- 4). Add decorative items to the front of the card. Consider adding stamps, stickers, decorative ribbon or bows. Alternatively, attach a picture of you and your new spouse during the wedding or the honeymoon.
- 5). Print a thank-you poem or quote inside of the card, such as, "A loving note can barely say all we felt that magic day. A heartfelt thanks is sent to you for your thoughtful gift and wishes, too."
- 6). Handwrite a personal thank you. Include the person's name, what the gift was and how you will use it. Your message should read something like, "Dear June and Joe, thank you so much for the beautiful figurine of an angel looking over the bride and groom. We have placed it in our curio cabinet and have fond thoughts of you every time we see it." Even if you don't like your handwriting, use it, as it adds a personal flair to the note.
- 7). Close the card with "best regards" or "with love" from you and your spouse. Both of you should sign your names.
