The border violence spills over to the American side from time to time. For the most part we are shielded from any comprehension of the true impact of what is happening on the Mexican side of the border. I attended a private screening of a film called, "American Federale," where the only American ever to have served as a Federale (Federal Agent) in Mexico tells us his first hand account of being in the trenches. We only think we know about corruption in Mexico. Lobo tells us about it from being there. My understanding from the filmmakers is that they plan to enter it into Cannes for their World Premiere and I urge all of you to see this very important film as it will give you insights into the problem. I warn you the film is shocking. That is what makes this film important.

The reality is that the Mexican Government is complicit in protecting this revenue stream into Mexico. They point to the American demand for drugs as the true cause and who can blame them. The Mexican Government wags its finger at the American Government and tells them to curb demand before making outrageous requests of them. But the American Government isn't every going to curb demand. Americans are the ones demanding drugs and we are only a single "grass roots" campaign away from ending cartel violence. In our own country we experienced an era of violence during Prohibition. The violence only ended when alcohol was legalized. So saving the lives of innocent Mexican victims and taking away the power of the Cartels is hinged upon the legalization of drugs.

Right now government budgets are strapped and there is very little money to do anything extra. This creates an opportunity for all of those that want to stop cartel violence to act responsibly to end the violence. The cartels grow Marijuana and they smuggle other harder drugs for other criminal enterprises outside of Mexico. The Mexican Cartel's cash crop is Marijuana. Stopping Marijuana smuggling would end the cartels grip by taking away their money, that they use to shatter innocent lives.

Here are two steps to end Cartel Violence:

1. Never vote for any new tax. (politicians have not been responsible so why give them more?)
2. Throw your Marijuana seeds in every fertile place Nationwide.

Picture America with Marijuana growing in every median, backyard, causeway, City Park, State Park, or National Park. Even if the weed was low grade it would provide the impetus to get Marijuana legalized as law enforcement has no budget to conduct a nationwide eradication program. If every Marijuana user nationwide threw their seeds to fertile ground politicians would have to legalize it.

Is it really that simple? I think it is…
