Good Things Come in Big Packages
The Goodwill Keystone Area was formed as a result of three Goodwill foundations joining together. Separate Goodwill Industries in Central Pennsylvania (based in Harrisburg), Mid-Eastern Pennsylvania (based in Reading) and Southeastern Pennsylvania (based in Lancaster) joined together in order to better serve the people of the state. This has proven to be a very successful alliance over the years.
This fall, they are to hold the Goodwill Runway Show: Secondhand Chic at The Designers' Place at Vanity Fair Outlets, in Reading, Pennsylvania. Contact Jennifer Schley at 717-525-6208 for more information. Events like this are only one part of what Goodwill Industries does all over the country.
Using the items donated to them by members of the public, Goodwill Industries is able to generate revenue to fund programs to help with job training and job placement. If that's not enough of a reson to donate, the donated items are able to be sold at reasonable prices to people who can't afford to spend a lot of money. This means that the donations help people in two different ways.
One of the best ways to help Goodwill Keystone Area (or any of the other Goodwill Industries charities) is to donate your vehicle. A large donation like a car or truck can go a long way towards funding their efforts. Whether it's by selling the car at a reasonable price to someone who really needs transportation or selling the car at an auction to raise money for other programs, your used vehicle could help make a big difference in someone's life.
You might not think that donating a car will change somebody's life but it really can. If you are thinking about making a donation to Goodwill Industries, a donating a used car is a good way to go about it. This will entitle you to claim a tax break on the value of the vehicle and you will be helping the charity to continue their good work too. If you've never made a vehicle donation before, you may be interested to know about Charity Dispatch. Charity Dispatch can make sure your vehicle donation goes to the Goodwill charity of your choice, anywhere in the country. This means that you can still donate to the Goodwill Keystone Area, even if you don't live in Pennsylvania.
