How to Open a Lock With a Pin
- 1). File down any sharp ends on the pin using a nail file. Make the point as flat as possible.
- 2). Straighten out both pins into as straight a line as possible.
- 3). Bend a quarter of an inch of one end of the pins with your tweezers. The bend should be slightly less than 45 degrees in an upward fashion. Bobby pins are usually curved already, so don't attempt to bend those.
- 4). Stick the straight pin directly into the bottom of the keyhole on the lock.
- 5). Stick the bent pin into the lock directly above the first pin. The bent end should go inside the lock. Push both pins as far back as they will go.
- 6). Use the bent pin to feel around for the tiny pins in the back of the lock. You need to push them up, so wiggle the pin up and down until you no longer feel the pins.
- 7). Twist both pins until the lock pops open.
