Whirl of Curls

• If you normally blow out the curl in your long curly hair to get a straight look, celebrate its curl by adding even more. Ask your stylist to create a super curly hairstyle with tight, vertical curls using small rollers in a wet set or with a small barrel hot curler. You might want to comb the crown back from the forehead and clip it with a decorate hair barrette, or sculpt a flat side bang from a side part and pin it behind the ear with a bobby pin. A decorative hairpin can be added here, if desired.

  Mermaid hair is long and flowing, but with huge waves and soft curves that are romantic and controlled. A mermaid hairstyle usually has a prominent side part from which waves flow down. The first wave can serve as a side bang, if desired, or can fall behind the ear. Your prom mermaid coif can drape to one side of the face for even more glam effect.
  
  

Crimp It Hard

• If your prom dress is a bit more daring, you'll want your hair to complement its cutting-edge look, while redefining the girl wearing the dress. Take your long curly hair to the extreme on prom night with an allover crimped style. Your stylist can crimp your hair using a variety of crimper sizes, both small and large, to create different effects on different parts of the hair.
  
  Bangs might be crimped with a small appliance, while the longer back might sport larger crimps. Let your stylist do a variety of test crimps so you're comfortable with the finished look's outcome.
