- The solution you must use to remove the Rhino lining can be hazardous to your health. Work in a well-ventilated area or outside.
- Aircraft coating remover removes polyurethanes, enamels, lacquers, primers and most other paints and coatings from aluminum and other metals. Obtain 2 to 4 gallons (a gallon costs around $35) of the solution; you can find this remover online or at a local auto parts store. Wear a respirator and gloves before applying the solution; it can cause severe skin irritation, headache, hoarseness and throat pain.
- Pour the solution generously over the areas you wish to remove, and soak the lining for an hour. After the liner has finished soaking, scrape off the soaked areas with a putty knife and a slotted screwdriver; use the putty knife to cover the larger areas and the screwdriver for the smaller nooks and edges. Spray the area with water to clean off the excess solution.
