How to Layer Your Sarongs With Your Favorite Colors
- 1). Try mixing different types of sarongs. An easy way to layer is choosing sarongs of different lengths. A long sarong is useful for a dress while, a shorter one is a great skirt, scarf or shoulder wrap. Pairing a long sarong dress with a shorter one as a skirt or wrap is a great way to add color and interest to tropical outfit.
- 2). Use the color wheel to select sarongs for layering. Colors near each other on the color wheel coordinate well. If you want to make a bolder statement, choose colors opposite each other on the color wheel. Before buying, hold the fabrics next to each other.
- 3). Tie the sarongs different ways. There are dozens of ways to tie a sarong. The most complicated methods require twisting the fabric into multiple knots. Keep it simple, perhaps two to three layers. Make the base layers simpler with fewer knots or twists and the most elaborate wrap the top layer. Each layer should peek out beneath the top layer.
- 4). Make adjustments as needed. Take a step back and look at your outfit for both silhouette and color.
