How Do You Cut Volume In to Bangs?
- 1). Separate your bangs from the rest of your hair. Comb the rest of your hair away from your bangs, pinning it out of the way if necessary.
- 2). Comb your bangs straight up from the scalp, holding it between the first two fingers of your left hand. Hold your fingers parallel with the floor, about 1/2 to 1 inch from the ends of your hair.
- 3). Remove the hair extending beyond your fingers to add layers. Cutting layers while holding your hair up will not make your bangs shorter in length when you comb them down.
- 4). Check out the layers; add more if you need to by combing your hair up and removing a bit more.
- 5). Comb the hair straight up and use thinning shears on the ends of your hair to texturize the ends. Do not use the thinning shears on any hair other than the 1/2 inch of hair closest to the ends.
