Jamie Foxx Takes a Starring Role in "The Kingdom"
Dec 12, 2005 - Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx ("Ray") will star in the movie "The Kingdom" for director Peter Berg ("Friday Night Lights"). Matthew Michael Carnahan wrote the script and Michael Mann and Scott Stuber will produce the film, which is set up at Universal Pictures.
The thriller features United States counter-terrorism experts who set to work investigating an attack on Americans in the Middle East.
Foxx will star as the team's leader.
According to Variety, "The Kingdom" will start filming in May 2006.
Foxx is currently at work on "Miami Vice" which reunites him with his "Collateral" director, Michael Mann. Foxx has also signed on to star in "Dreamgirls" with Beyonce Knowles.
