I have used about a dozen different acne treatment products previously.

So their skin care products typically last about 6 to 8 months.
I apply the anti acne serum after my usual routine of cleansing.
scrubbing and drying.
Feel free to mix and match products.
Which ever works for you is perfectly fine.
The reason why is because everyones face have different skin conditions especially in their T-Zones.
After a week of applying Mario Badescu's anti acne serum I noticed a little bit of difference.
I was a little bit bummed out to be honest.
Or maybe I was preparing myself for another let down.
But I stuck with the routine for another week and this time the results was much more noticeable.
I haven't done anything differently from when I was using other acne products so I know Mario Badescu's anti acne serum did it's job.
My skin was clearer and felt soft and not dry.
Which is important.
 Because I notice other acne product's only purpose is to dry out your skin.
This can lead to other problems as well as acne.
