How to Troubleshoot an Infinity Radio in a Dodge Truck
- 1). Turn the ignition key to the "II" position. Power the radio on. If the radio does not come on, you'll need to check the radio fuse.
- 2). Check the fuse for the radio. Open the fuse box underneath the steering wheel. Pull the fuse box cover down. Remove the fuse for the radio with the supplied fuse puller. Inside the fuse will be a metal wire. This wire should not appear damaged or burnt. If it is, you'll need to replace this fuse with another fuse of the same amperage.
- 3). Check for static. Since radio reception can vary according to where you are, you will have to know whether you ought to be getting a clear signal or not. Check the strongest radio stations. If you cannot get any signal, you may have a damaged antenna or antenna connection or wire. You will need to have the antenna serviced by a professional mechanic.
- 4). Check for normal button operation. If the radio powers up but no other buttons seem to work, the unit may have failed. It is unlikely that the rear 6-pin electrical connector is faulty, otherwise the system would not power up. Unfortunately, on cheaper Infinity models, system failure can be a problem. Sudden failure of the unit means that you'll need to replace the radio with a new unit.
