Recently whilst at a wedding i was listening to the best man speech and a thought came over me that I never realised how difficult it would be to getup in front of loads of people and make a speech especially as important as a wedding speech.
Never having been put in this position myself I can't really say what it's like but I've had plenty of friends who at the last minute get a bunch of nerves and rush through their speech.
Also you have to deal with kids being loud, people not hearing you and aunts and uncles going of to the bar in the middle of your speech.
And its not just the guys that have to make a speech, more and more brides are making a speech and the maid of honour or even the brides mother.
These speeches have to incorporate the feeling of the day, some might try using famous quotes or poetry others will tell jokes and one liners that have the guests roaring with laughter.
Having been to quite a few weddings I have witnessed some really good speeches and some really bad ones, finding the right balance between humour and speaking from your heart is a difficult task but it can be done.
Don't be put of by kids being loud or anything else, keep going and make sure your not speaking too quietly, but don't shout.
You could add memories about the bride and groom, add jokes or even add a famous quotation or even write a poem its entirely up to you.
If you get it right the guests at the wedding will remember it for years to come.
