Use a finish nail gun and nail three finish nails to connect the two boards together. Repeat this for the second set of planks. Position the two corners opposite each other to form a box. Nail the two sections together.

    • 2). Cut one piece of five inch cedar fence plank to 5 inches long. Position this over the box and nail through the plank sides into the ends of the box. This creates a box for the centerpiece.

    • 3). Paint the outside of the box with black paint using a paint brush. Paint two coats allowing the paint to dry 8 hours between each coat.

    • 4). Cut two pieces floral foam block to fit into the box using a steak knife.

    • 5). Spray the manzanita branches with copper glitter paint. Allow 30 minutes for the paint to dry. Insert two or three branches into the box arranged to create a balanced look.

    • 6). Drape copper colored crystal-shaped bead strands among the branches so that the strands drape from branch to branch. Use hot glue if you want the beads to stay in specific positions.

    • 7). Position a small, clip-on style reading light, with batteries installed, face up in the box. Arrange it so that it is easy to turn on. Surround the light with Spanish moss. This will create a very cool effect in a darkened event room.
