    • 1). Inspect the supply valve for leaks and turn the supply handle so that enough water is being released from the valve. Turn it up as high as it will go and test the ice maker in an hour. The supply valve is usually located under the kitchen sink or behind the freezer unit.

    • 2). Unplug the refrigerator from the wall and open the freezer door. Place a towel at the bottom of the freezer and allow it to defrost.

    • 3). Remove the screws from the ice making unit and pull it out. Carefully unplug the wiring harness from the back of the unit while pulling it out to prevent damage to the wiring.

    • 4). Melt any ice inside the water inlet tube, located directly behind where the ice maker was, using a hair dryer. Continue applying heat until water stops coming from the tube. Reassemble and test the unit.

    • 5). Check the supply tube coming from the saddle valve, located on the water supply pipe, for any blockages or leaks. Replace the tubing if it is damaged in any way.

    • 6). Inspect the inlet valve that the supply tube fits into on the back of your refrigerator. Unscrew the nuts and unplug the wiring that holds the valve in place and replace it if it is clogged or damaged.
