How to French Braid on Two Sides

104 27
    • 1). Comb through the hair, ridding it of any tangles or knots. Create a straight part in the hair from the center of the forehead hairline to the center of the back of the neck using the pointy end of a rat-tail comb.

    • 2). Gather the hair on one side and bunch it up into a ponytail or bun, leaving the remaining half of the hair down.

    • 3). Separate the first 1 inch of hair near the side of the forehead at the hairline into three equal sections. Cross the left section over the center, then the right section over the now-center section.

    • 4). Grab a piece of hair from the left side of the braid, combine it with the now-left section of hair and cross that double section over the now-center piece. Grab another piece of hair on the right, combine it with the piece on the right and cross that section over the now-center piece. Repeat this step until you reach the back of the neck.

    • 5). Braid the remaining hair by crossing the left and right sections over the center without adding anymore hair because it should already be included higher in the French braid. Secure the end with a hair elastic.

    • 6). Repeat the process after removing the hair elastic from the other side of the head and combing through the hair. Secure that side with another hair elastic that is even with the first.
