Statistics For Least and Most Expensive Cars For Claims

Insurance is one of the most complicated industries that we have in our lives and most of us just don't have a clue as to how most of it works.
One month our auto insurance premium is one amount and then the next month we get a notice in the mail from our insurance carrier stating that our rates will be increased beginning the next month.
Sometimes the reason for the increase is obvious to us, like an auto accident we were involved in or a speeding ticket we received recently.
There are other times when we are left scratching our head trying to think of a reason.
And, for some reason, these notices seem to always arrive in our mailbox late Friday afternoon or with Saturday's mail leaving us with no one to call because it's the weekend and our agent's office is always closed on weekends.
Needless to say our weekend has just been spoiled because we can't get the insurance increase off our mind.
Most of us know that our auto premium will be increased if we are involved in an accident or file a claim for some other type of loss such as someone breaking into our car and stealing the new audio system.
Other times we just don't know the reason.
We do know that there are statistics showing which car is most likely to be stolen and which car is more likely to get into an accident.
The statistics are broken down for the most and least expensive claims that fall into three categories of theft, injury and collision: 1) the most expensive claim for theft is the Acura Integra/two-door, this list includes two Acura's and two Jeeps out of five listed, the least expensive claim for theft is the Buick LeSabre along of two other Buick's; 2) the most expensive claim for injury is the Suzuki Esteem four-door with two Mitsubishi's and two Kia's being on the list of five, the least claims for injury is the GMC Yukon XL 1500 two-wheel drive with four out of five on the list being GMC's; 3) the most expensive claim for collision is the Lexus IS 300 with the Mitsubishi Mirage four-door being on the bottom of a list of five in this category, and the least expensive claim for collision is the GMC Yukon two-wheel drive, with two on the list being GMC and two being Ford two-wheel drives out of five on the list.
The above should give you an idea of which car you should buy when you are in the market for a new car.
You should look for a car that has the least expensive claims in the areas of theft, injury and collision.
These types of cars will not only be safer for you to drive but the lower claim amounts of these three categories will help to keep your auto insurance premiums from increasing.
