How to Fix a Broken Screen on an I68
- 1). Turn off your I68 and turn the unit over. Slide the back panel off of the unit to expose the battery. Remove the battery.
- 2). Use your screwdriver to remove the two screws on the bottom corners of the unit.
- 3). Insert the tip of your case opener tool in the seam where the back plastic panel of the unit meets the body of the I68.
- 4). Work your way around the sides of the panel until it pops off. Set it aside. The motherboard assembly will be exposed in the body of the unit.
- 5). Lift the motherboard assembly up and turn it over to expose the screen.
- 6). Lift the screen up to expose the orange screen ribbon that connects to a port on the motherboard. Check the connection. Unplug the ribbon cable and plug it back in, making sure the cable is secure in the port.
- 7). Replace the back panel of the I68 and screws.
