Designer Office Furniture Doesn"t Have to Be Expensive
Most people wouldn't even consider spending money on designer office furniture because it's perceived as being far too expensive. But when all you really need are desks, chairs and a maybe a nice wall clock, it's doesn't have to be as costly as you might think. Besides, you can always claim all of this on expenses!
For example; in our office we bought all our staff Elite Flexi Desks with a beech finish for 195 each. They measure 1600mm x 800mm, so they're pretty big and can be easily pushed together to create an area for each of our teams. They do come flat packed through, so we had to take some time assembling them ourselves with a screwdriver set.
We also go Elite Loreta Task Office Chairs for 274 each. Yes, these adjustable chairs cost more than the workstations! But when our employees are sitting for up to 8 hours a day, we need to make sure that no one gets back injuries or similar from sitting poorly.
So this set us back 469 per employee. We have 8 employees in total, so this came to 3,752. Obviously, we claimed this all on expenses and considering we pay a lot of tax on company earnings, this effectively cost us nothing. That said, we couldn't claim any other expenses that month.
Later, when we decided we really needed a nice board room to hold meetings with clients, we invested in a really nice Aerofoil Boardroom Table and chairs for around 2,000.
So is designer office furniture expensive? Well yes, but only when you start buying it for lots of people. If you only need a desk and a chair for a personal work space, then that's a different story. But let's not forget that all of this can be claimed on your expenses.
Also, have you ever thought about the first impression people get when they visit your business? You'd be surprised just how much the office furniture says about your business the very second someone walks in through the door.
If you're working on an old dining room table that's seen better days while sitting on a fold up chair that's every bit as uncomfortable as it looks, then you're not going to win much business con first impressions alone.
But if you've invested in something smart, clean and simple it can go a long way in helping to portray
