How to Write an Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphic Love Symbol

    • 1). Draw three evenly-sized rectangles next to each other on your paper. Position them vertically. Each one will contain a symbol to create the word "love."

    • 2). Sketch an oval horizontally in the bottom quarter of the first rectangle on the left. Make each edge slightly pointed, instead of being rounded.

    • 3). Turn the paper 90 degrees clockwise. Now, draw the letter "A" in the top third of the first rectangle. The level axis should be vertical against the side of the rectangle, while the left axis should curve outwards. Revert your paper back to its original position. The first hieroglyph is complete.

    • 4). Draw a semicircle in the bottom quarter of the second rectangle. Above this shape, draw a basic outline of a bird facing towards the left. Essentially, the bird is a simple sausage shape positioned at a 45 angle, with a triangle for a beak and two stick legs. The bird should fill most of the space.

    • 5). Start drawing the final symbol in the third rectangle. It looks like a man crouched onto his knees, with a large beak. Create the image by first drawing a triangle sideways, at the bottom quarter of the rectangle. Add two vertical lines attached to the triangle for the figure's body, and a single line for an arm hanging on his right side.

    • 6). Complete the figure by adding a semicircle for the outer outline of his head, then draw an elongated triangle in the position where the nose should be. Give it rounded corners so it is not too harsh.
