How to Remove Burned-on Grease From the Bottom of an Electric Skillet
- 1). Wait until the griddle is cool from its last use before you try to clean it. Remove the temperature control and grease cup according to the methods recommended by the manufacturer of your electric skillet.
- 2). Fill your sink with hot water and add liquid dish soap until the water is soapy. Insert the skillet into the water.
- 3). Scrub it with a cloth, sponge or other non-metallic scrubbing option. This removes many grease stains, as the skillets have a non-stick coating.
- 4). Dry the skillet thoroughly with a dry towel and inspect it to see if the stains are gone. If the stain persists, mix one-part water with one-part club soda and apply it to the stain with a sponge.
- 5). Use a commercial stain cleaner if the previous options fail. Purchase these at any local grocery store. Apply according to the manufacturer's directions.
