Kestelwoods Campground, located near Pine River, offers clean campsites that feature numerous amenities including fire pits, electricity, water and picnic tables. Modern amenities include nice restrooms, hot showers, groceries, ice cream, and a party store that sells beer and wine. The site includes a restaurant that offers homemade pastries.Campsites are reasonably priced, and the first two children under 12 stay free, with a $5-a-night rate for each additional child. The seventh night's stay is free for everyone. Cool Water Campground, nestled in the Manistee National Forest, offers a variety of outdoor activities and modern amenities. The campground features activities for all seasons such as snowmobile trails in winter, hunting in the fall, mushroom hunting in the spring, and golf, biking, fishing, canoeing and kayaking in the summer. Modern amenities include hot showers, electricity and water, laundry facilities and a playground. Guests need not worry if they forgot certain supplies because many items are available at the campground store. Available supplies include personal needs products such as soap and toothpaste; cooking supplies such as utensils, matches, sodas and water; and camping supplies such as tent stakes, bug spray and firewood. Loomis Landing Campground, located on the backwaters of the Tippy Dam, offers 11 campsites. The rustic campsites include hand pump wells, fire pits and picnic tables. Activities include fishing, hiking, hunting, biking and mushroom-hunting in the spring. The grounds offer fishing for pan fish, rainbow trout, brown trout, walleye, bass and catfish. Pine Creek Lodge offers 25 wooded campsites near the Manistee River and Manistee Forest. The rustic sites feature picnic tables, water, outhouse and fire circles; the majority of sites include electricity. Two of the campsites are large enough to accommodate a family or group. Campers enjoy activities such as fishing, hunting, hiking, swimming and canoeing. Nearby are museums, swimming pools and the "Big M" cross country skiing and BMX arena.
