104 81

    Preparation

    • 1). Separate the tanks by sliding the lock at the front of the unit and then lifting off the upper tank.

    • 2). Pull the handle located at the front of the waste chamber to open the waste valve. Add the deodorizing liquid according to the directions on the bottle. Push the handle back in place to close the valve.

    • 3). Put the top tank back into position. Securely engage the lock.

    • 4). Unscrew the water tank cap found on top of the tank at the rear. Fill the tank with approximately 15 quarts of water. Replace the cap securely.

    • 5). Place the Porta Potti on a firm, level surface.

    Usage

    • 1). Close the lid after use. Press the air relief button located on the top of the unit. Open the waste valve by pulling the handle, located at the front of the unit, towards you.

    • 2). Press the bellows or flush switch several times so that fresh water cleans the toilet bowl.

    • 3). Push the waste valve handle back into position.

    Emptying

    • 1). Check the capacity of the waste tank by visually inspecting the chamber, by separating the two tanks and opening the waste valve, or by looking at the indicator panel on the side of the unit, if appropriate. Make sure it is not overfilled before emptying.

    • 2). Securely close the waste valve handle. Separate the tanks by sliding the lock at the front of the unit and then lifting off the upper tank.

    • 3). Take the waste tank to a permanent toilet that is connected to either the main sewer supply or a storage tank.

    • 4). Rotate the pouring spout and drain the unit into the toilet. Press the air relief button located on the top of the unit. This will ensure a smooth flow and avoid splashing.

    • 5). Rinse the waste tank with clean water. Return the pouring spout to its original position. Repeat the procedures outlined under "Preparation" to return the Porta Potti to service.
