Prepare the Printer for Installation

• 1). Place the printer on a flat surface near the computer.
  
  
• 2). Lift the Canon PIXMA MP210 printer cover. Pull the scanning unit down from the middle of the printer cover. This will enable you to view the area of the printer where you will install the color cartridges.
  
  
• 3). Remove the plastic, protective material that is in place over the right-hand side of the printer hardware.
  
  
• 4). Close the printer cover once you have removed all of the plastic material.
  
  
• 5). Insert the Canon power cord into the back of the printer. Connect the other end of the nearest wall outlet, so that you can power on the printer.
  
  
• 6). Press and hold the "On/Off" power button on the Canon PIXMA MP210 printer. The printer should power on within five seconds, and the LED light will flash while the hardware boots. Once the initialization completes, the LED light should stop flashing. This will be the indication that you have properly configured the printer.
  
  

Software Installation

• 1). Press the "On/Off" button to turn off the printer if you have powered on.
  
  
• 2). Insert the Canon PIXMA MP210 installation disk into your optical drive.
  
  
• 3). Click "RunMSetup4.exe" when the AutoPlay window opens for the disk. This action will initiate the installation process.
  
  
• 4). Click "Continue" in the User Account windows to bypass the operating system security breach. The Canon installation wizard will appear.
  
  
• 5). Click the "Easy Install" option on the Canon installation wizard's welcome screen to initiate the installation process. The next screen will display a list of Canon applications and contents that comes with the Canon PIXMA MP210 installation.
  
  
• 6). Click "Install" to confirm and approve the installation of the listed Canon applications and contents.
  
  
• 7). Read and review the Canon User License Agreement on the following screen. Scroll to the bottom, and click "Yes" to accept the terms and begin the MP210 installation. The Canon Printer Connection screen will appear.
  
  
• 8). Connect the Canon USB network cable to any available USB port on the computer and to the PIXMA MP210 printer.
  
  
• 9). Press the "On/Off" button to power on the printer hardware so that the Canon installation wizard can detect the printer's connection to the computer. Once the computer successfully detects the printer's connection, the MP software drivers, Canon application software and user operation manuals will automatically install and configure properly.

  Click "Next" on the Printer Head Alignment screen, and click "Next" on the Setup Complete screen to conclude the installation of the Canon PIXMA MP210.
