How to Make Personalized Wedding Paper Fans
- 1). Select the fan template(s) that you would like to use. You can either print one from a website (see Resources section below for some suggestions), or draw your preferred template on a piece of paper. Heart shapes are a common choice for weddings.
- 2). Cut out the template with scissors.
- 3). Trace the paper template onto a piece of card stock. Do this in pencil so that you can erase and correct any imperfections. Repeat this as many times as necessary in order to make a fan for each wedding guest.
- 4). Cut out with scissors all the shapes you have traced.
- 5). Decorate and personalize each fan shape as much as you would like. A commonly used design involves gluing a photo of you and your future spouse to the card stock and writing a short message with marker or pen below the picture. The note can be as general as "Tom & Lilly's Wedding, May 7, 2009," or longer and more personalized, such as "Mary, thank you for attending our wedding and making it such a special event! Love, Tom and Lilly."
- 6). Glue a popsicle stick to the center of the bottom edge of the fan.
- 7). Finish off by tying a small bow from a piece of ribbon. Put a drop of glue on the center of the backside of the bow. Attach the bow to the middle of the popsicle stick (or wherever you feel it looks best) by pressing the bit covered in glue against the stick for about 10 seconds.
- 8). Write a guest's name on the popsicle stick of each fan using a permanent marker. Make sure you consult the attendance list to make sure that you haven't left anyone out.
