How to Fix Flickering in Maya
- 1). Open the "Render Settings" pallet by clicking "Window > Rendering Editors > Render Settings." Click "Use Multi-Pixel Filter" in the settings window. Turn on the "Geometry Anti-Aliasing Override" feature and make sure the anti-aliasing level is set between 3 and 5. This solution will help fix flicking problems caused by thin surfaces.
- 2). Open the "Set NURBS Tessellation" palette under "Render" if you need to fix flickering due to texture settings. Ensure that under "Best Guess Based on Screen Size" you do not have the "Mode U" or "Mode V" options selected. Turn off the "Use Min Screen" option. If you are dealing with an image file texture and not a solid, change the filter type to "Quadratic" and change the "Filter Offset" to the lowest quality you can get away with while maintaining image quality.
- 3). Click on "Windows > Rendering Editors > Hypershade" if your problem is caused by an image's glow. Click on "Shaderglow" and deactivate "Auto Exposure." Change the "Glow" and "Halo" intensities as needed to compensate for exposure issues created by turning off the automatic settings.
