How to Get Wallaper for Your Computer
- 1). Look on your computer for stock wallpapers. Most computers come with several pre-installed wallpapers that are available even without Internet access. If you have a PC, right-click on the background of your computer and select the "Properties" or "Personalize" option to see what wallpapers are available by default on your computer.
- 2). Go to online wallpaper websites. Many sites simply exist to offer downloadable wallpapers. Several of these sites, such as Desktopnexus.com, offer many wallpaper options categorized into separate common groups, such as animals, cars and people. There are also smaller, more niche wallpaper sites.
- 3). Visit image websites. Sites like Flickr.com and Photobucket.com have numerous images uploaded by users. These images will often be more organic that wallpapers offered on specialty sites. Be sure to consider the size and resolution of the image as too small of an image will not look good as a desktop wallpaper.
- 4). Use the image search features of popular search engines. Google, Yahoo! and many other search engines feature image searches that will scour the web for images matching your keywords. This is a good approach if you have a specific wallpaper image in mind. Include the term "wallpaper" or "background" to get returns that are formatted for desktop wallpaper.
- 5). Create your own wallpapers. A great way to personalize your desktop is to use your own images as your desktop background. Consider pictures of your family or favorite vacation spot. On your PC, to set an image as your wallpaper, right-click on it and choose "Set as Desktop Background." On a Macintosh, wallpapers can be changed under System Preferences.
- 6). Keep your eyes open for interesting images that you could use as wallpaper. During your normal web routine, look for new and interesting images that could make good wallpapers. Technology and space websites often have good images that can double as your desktop wallpaper. To set an image from a website as your wallpaper for your PC, right-click on the image and choose the "Set as Background" option.
