The Guadalupe River in central Texas is popular for camping, canoeing, fishing and floating on inner tubes. The river is 250 miles long and flows from Canyon Lake (just north of New Braunfels) to the Gulf Coast. The most popular stretch for camping and water activities on this lazy river is the area between the Canyon Lake Dam and the city of Gruene. Several bars, restaurants and picnic spots are in this region. - River Road Camp is a year-round, family-oriented campground suitable for RVers and tent campers. The park has mostly riverfront sites, with water, sewer and electric hookups for RV and electrical outlets for people in tents. Pets are welcome for RVers only, and must weigh less than 15 lbs. The park is on a shallow, slow-moving area of the Guadalupe River, making the area perfect for fishing or water play with children. Management only accepts cash for payment.

Tent sites are first come, first served and feature electricity outlets. The RV spots include water, sewer and electric hookups with 30-, 50- and 110-amp service. An on-site convenience store sells items such as firewood, ice, drinks, food, river shoes and souvenirs. Dogs under 20 lbs. are only permitted in the RV section of the campground. Management does not allow dogs in the tent area.

Some tent sites feature electricity and RV sites feature 30- or 50-amp electrical service. Tube rental service and shuttle service is available at the campground, and fishing is also permitted for licensed anglers. The campground has an on-site convenience store and restrooms with showers. Dogs are not allowed at this campground.
