How to Clean Cloth Buffing Wheels
- 1). Put on safety goggles and gloves, as small bits of material can come flying out of a buffing wheel --- especially a dirty one. Goggles will keep them out of your eyes, while gloves will protect your hands from any sharp bits sent flying lower down.
- 2). Turn on your buffing wheel, and let it spin up to speed.
- 3). Place one hand on each handle of the wheel rake, and press the jagged side down onto the moving buffing wheel.
- 4). Move the rake from side to side across the buffing wheel until it looks clean and fluffy. The jagged bits on the rake will remove metal shards and grit that would otherwise scratch the next object you buff.
