How to Cut Glass Bottles With a Dremel
- 1). Place a rubber band around the bottle where you plan to make the cut.
- 2). Apply the diamond-tipped burr or diamond wheel to the Dremel. Dip the burr into a lubricant designed for the rotary tool.
- 3). Clamp the bottle down to keep it secure. Score the bottle with the Dremel. Turn the rotary tool on and make a score all the way around the bottle, using the rubber band as a guide. Rotate the bottle as you make the score line.
- 4). Heat the score line with a torch, wearing heat-resistant gloves to protect your hands.
- 5). Place the bottle into a bucket of cold water immediately. The bottle will break along the score line.
- 6). Sand the cut edges of the bottle to smooth them.
