How to Create a Cup of Comfort Gift
- 1). Decide who will be presented with your gift. The occasion can be anything from a time of mourning to the celebration of a birth. It can be anything in between those extremes as well. The key thing to consider is who the person is that will be receiving this cup of comfort.
- 2). Pick out a cup that is appropriate for the time. Perhaps you want to be artistic. You can create a cup yourself by buying a blank craft cup. You can decorate, draw and write on the cup to your heart's content. You can also simply buy a beautiful, decorative cup, if you are feeling less creative, or perhaps you are simply in a time crunch.
- 3). Start with filler. This will be the candy of choice for the person that you are hoping to please with the cup. This can be sugar free, sweets or chocolate. You know your loved one, and you know what she will most appreciate. There are other choices if she doesn't like any type of small candy or sweets. You can fill it in with decorative erasers or stamps.
- 4). Place a small gift on top of the filler. This could be a decorative magnet or it could be a jewelry box containing something expensive. Perhaps a matching magnet and bookmark is appropriate. You could even draw your own bookmark. When helping a child design a cup of comfort gift, have him make his own presents for the recipient.
- 5). Write a personalized verse, poem or sentence to place at the very top of your cup of comfort. This should summarize the reason for the present and it should express your comforting feelings to your loved one.
- 6). Cover your cup of comfort in the way one would a traditional gift basket or easter basket for an added effect. This isn't necessary, but it's a nice touch to making the cup of comfort a pretty gift.
