How to Reset a Canon Pixma iP1000
- 1). Shut down the Canon Pixma iP1000 by pressing the “Power” button once. Once the status light stops blinking and turns off, the unit is completely shut down.
- 2). Unplug the USB cord from the back of the printer.
- 3). Disconnect the Canon Pixma iP1000 from the electrical outlet by pulling the electrical cord out.
- 4). Leave the unit unplugged for 20 minutes. This will give the memory within the Canon Pixma iP1000 ample time to reset. Reconnect the USB cable by plugging it into the USB port on the back of the unit.
- 5). Hold the “Power” button down; plug the electrical cord into the outlet. Release the “Power” button. This process resets any ink error messages. Allow the unit to power on; once the green power light stops blinking and is steady, the unit is ready for use.
