You need to be able to control and calm down your mind and thoughts when you start to feel the oncoming of an attack.
The panic response can be stopped by learning to understand that in reality there is nothing wrong, and there is nothing to fear.
It is generally the fear itself that causes the panic attacks to prolong itself, and it can even be a catalyst to any attacks you experience afterward.
It's in learning to break the fear of having another panic attacks that you can effectively prevent it from happening again.
