Is there still a chance for you to win your ex lover back? Maybe you've tried everything (or at least you believe you did), but nothing seemed to work so far.
Fact is, you really should try and do the complete opposite of what you feel like.
I assume that you feel like this: the harder you try to get your ex back, the more you push your ex further away.
So why is that happening? What am I doing that pushes my ex further and further away? To start off, have you been calling too often? Maybe your ex isn't answering the phone which makes you feel like calling over and over again because you'd really like to talk to him/her?! Or maybe you've been sending out way too many messages like for instance, "Call me back please," "I've always loved you," "I could never live without you?" If you send out messages like that it's not going to help improve the situation at all because all it does is, it irritates your ex and makes him/her want to run away as far as possible from you.
And there's also another reason why you should avoid doing things like that which is because you are leaving the impression that you are a desperate or needy person.
And that's a "no" if you plan on eventually winning your ex back.
So instead of that, you'll want to take things to a more gradual level.
If you two have recently broken up like a day or two ago, it'd be a good idea cutting off all contact for a few weeks with your ex so that you let your emotions heal.
And once your mind becomes clearer, you'd be in a much better position to decide what you should do next and that way you'll avoid doing unnecessary mistakes that only drive or irritate your ex further away.
