How to Install 1997 Microsoft Word Into a Computer
- 1). Place the Office 97 disk in the drive, and allow a few moments for the splash screen to load. Select "Install Microsoft Office" from the menu, and then select "Continue."
- 2). Enter the name that you would like to use when editing documents in Word 97, and if you like, the name of your business. Click "OK" until you reach the product key entry screen.
- 3). Type your product key. The standard product key for Word 97 consists of 11 numerals. Press "Enter" or click "OK" until you reach a screen with three buttons.
- 4). Select "Custom." In the following screen, place a check in the box next to "Microsoft Word." Select "Continue." Word 97 is installed on the computer.
- 5). Close the installation program when prompted, then launch Word 97 from the Start menu. The blue "W" Word 97 icon is located at the bottom of the list of installed programs.
